THE EVALUATION OF THE PASCO AUTOANALYZER SYSTEM FOR MIC

Abstract
Sens tivity test became unavoidable procedure in the selection of antibiotics because resistant: bacterias to many (: rugs are gradually increased in the clinical specimens.
The purpose of sensitivity test to detect the resistant stains ind to help in the selection of most useful antibiotics.
This study was undertaken to evaluate the PASCO autoar alyzer at Department of Clinical Pathology, Kyun; Hee University Hospital by measuring the minimal inhibitory concentration of antibiotics with the 20 standa rd strains of Escherichia soli (ATcc 25922), pseud( monas aeruginosa (ATcc 27853), and streptococcus fa.,!calis (ATcc 29212).
The results of this study were as follows:
1) (. ompared with the disk diffusion method, PASCO systen is. easy to operate and objective in reading of result:.
2) I ( the cases of resistant to all drugs, PASCO system a. low to find the degree to increase blood concentration of drug in treatment.
3) 1: ASCO system, however, is semiautomatic in the suspension of bacteria and reading the results.
